Hello, I’m Syann. I am a qualified and registered counsellor with the Australia Counselling Association, a registered Blue Card holder, and a certified and insured Art Therapy Practitioner. My path into counselling has been shaped by both professional experience and life experience. After working in roles supporting others through difficult and changing circumstances, I came to understand that what matters most to me is creating a space where people feel safe enough to explore what they are going through, make sense of their experiences, and reconnect with themselves in a meaningful way. More recently, my own experience of breast cancer has deepened this understanding in a very personal way. It has given me lived insight into the emotional impact of diagnosis and treatment, as well as managing uncertainty and coping with identity changes. It has also highlighted for me how deeply cancer can impact our relationship with our partner and the people who walk alongside us. I’m here to offer a space where you can feel genuinely heard and understood, respected, and supported, whether you are navigating breast cancer, recovery, relationship challenges, or other life difficulties. |
Contact me to arrange an informal 15min discussion to see how we can work together to bring forward the change you are seeking.

My approach is gentle, collaborative, and person-centred. I work with adults and young people, and I tailor each session to the individual rather than using a fixed or prescriptive approach.
Above all, I aim to create a space where you can show up as you are, without judgement, pressure, or expectation.

My focus areas include...
|
Breast cancer support for women: A significant part of my work focuses on supporting women navigating breast cancer and its ongoing impact. This can include the emotional experience of diagnosis and treatment, adjustment to life during and after cancer, the visible, and the often less-visible challenges around identity, fear, relationships, and finding a sense of stability again. Having survived breast cancer myself, I bring both professional training and lived understanding to this work. Emotional and Relational Healing: Offering support for healing from trauma, betrayal, burnout, and managing relationship challenges such as divorce and long-distance relationships. |
Personal Exploration and Identity: Helping individuals rediscover their identity, explore their sexuality, and find deeper meaning in life. Parenting and Family Support: With a focus on parents of neurodivergent teens and those navigating issues related to gender and sexuality exploration. Support for Women: Including pregnancy, motherhood, menopause, career changes, and relationship adjustments. Creative Art-Based Counselling: Providing an alternative way for adults and teens to express themselves and manage their concerns through creative arts, ideal for those who prefer non-verbal forms of communication. |
